The first time you open your Wallet, you'll be asked to set up two-factor authentication (2FA). Download an authenticator app, scan the QR code from inside the app, and enter the code it shows. All Wallet users need 2FA.

How to set up 2FA

  1. Download an authenticator app. We recommend Google Authenticator or Guardian by Auth0 from your phone's app store.

  2. Open your Wallet. Log in to your Carwow account and go to the Wallet section. A QR code will appear.

  3. Scan the QR code from inside the authenticator app using its built-in scanner – not your phone's regular camera.

  4. Enter the code from the app on the Carwow website to turn on 2FA.

From then on, you'll enter a code from the app whenever you do something sensitive in your Wallet. The code changes every 30 seconds.

Common issues

  • Lost or changed your phone? Contact the Carwow Wallet team to reset your 2FA.

  • Stuck in a login loop? Make sure you're using the code from your authenticator app (not a text message), and that your phone's clock is set to automatic/network time. If it still doesn't work, contact us to reset your 2FA.

  • Think your 2FA has been compromised? Contact us straight away to reset it. See How do I report suspicious activity in my Wallet?

Things to know

  • One login per person. Each Wallet login is linked to one user and one phone, so don't share logins. If someone else needs access, contact the Carwow Wallet team to set them up with their own login.
