Add Carwow BuySafe if you're collecting the car yourself or using your own transport. It costs £59 + VAT, covers major undisclosed mechanical faults up to £7,500, and must be added within 24 hours of winning the car.
What does BuySafe cover?
Carwow BuySafe protects you against major faults the seller didn't declare.
Cover: up to £7,500 per claim (including VAT, parts and labour).
Parts covered: around 3,000 components, including engine, gearbox, alternator, infotainment and lighting units.
Not covered: consumables (tyres, brakes), bodywork and glass.
How long: 5 days from delivery or collection.
BuySafe or Carwow Collects?
Choose BuySafe if you collect the car yourself or use your own transport.
You don't need BuySafe if you use Carwow Collects. It already includes its own Assured Scheme protection (up to £25k).
How to add BuySafe
Within 24 hours of winning the car, go to your Won folder or the vehicle listing page.
Add BuySafe to the purchase.
The £59 + VAT isn't taken from your Wallet straight away – it's usually invoiced weekly in arrears with your standard buying fees.
How to make a claim
Report the fault within 5 days of delivery or collection.
Submit your claim through the BuySafe claims portal, where you can also read the full policy terms.
Send a valid repair invoice. If your claim is approved, you're usually paid within 48 hours of submitting it.
