'Business-Nature' Proof for Sole Traders & Unregistered Businesses

Written by Magda Pinto

If your dealership is not registered as a Limited Company on Companies House, or if your trading name does not match your legal registration, our payment provider's automated system might not be able to verify your business via official registers or public directories.

How to fix it:

If you operate as a Sole Trader or do not have a corporate registration link, you can fulfil the verification requirements manually by providing the following documents to confirm your active trading:

  • 1. Invoices (4 total): Provide two recent invoices issued to your customers AND two invoices received from your vehicle suppliers (all dated within the last 3–6 months).

  • 2. Bank Statements: If you do not have a dedicated business bank account, you may upload 3 consecutive months of your personal bank statements. These statements must clearly show your vehicle-related business transactions (such as customer payouts or payments to suppliers).

  • 3. Online Presence: Ensure the dealership name used on your stock listings (e.g., Motors.co.uk, AutoTrader, or your own website) matches the trading name you provided in your Carwow Wallet.

Stuck on this step?

If you are a Sole Trader uploading personal statements, please complete your uploads in the portal and notify us using one of the methods below, so we can assist you with the application process:
